Brinskele: Thank you. I want to really encourage you to support Outfest, I’ve been volunteering for them for over ten years, and as you can tell, they’re a fantastic organization, so thank you to Outfest.

Brinskele: The Mazer Lesbian Archives has been collecting, protecting, and preserving lesbian and feminist history for three decades now. We’re very proud of that. If you don’t know, we’re here on Robertson, just down from The Abbey [T/N: A gay bar/restaurant] in West Hollywood. We are going to have our thirtieth-anniversary open house, so, save the date, it’s November 6th, on a Sunday. I wanted to entice you as filmgoers and filmmakers and screenwriters to come visit the archives at some point. Our website is www.mazerlesbianarchives.org, and what I wanted to tell you is, we have so many women’s collections and women’s lives represented in the archives, that would make great screenplays, and great films. One of the collections I wanted to tell you about, is of Margaret Ann Porter, and in her collection there’s endless treasures, but one of the most amazing things is her journals, that span sixty years. And she started writing them in 1933. And one of the most interesting films— one of the most interesting things to this audience might be that she actually went regularly to the moves, and she often writes about going to see a new Greta Garbo or [Marlene] Dietrich film. And she talks about how in love she is with both of them [laugher], and she reviews the films, basically. She usually loves everything they do. But, I thought that might be of interest to all of you, and she writes about these in her journals in the ’30s & ’40s. So, anyway, we have many other things at the archives for you to see, so please come by, and we do have bookmarks out on the table in the lobby that look like this [holds up bookmark], so please pick one up if you have a chance, and I hope to see you there. Thank you.
